The Power Of Vision.

“Your future is not ahead of you-it lies within you. See beyond your eyes and live for the unseen. Your vision determines your destiny.”

The reason these last three sentences of the preface of “The Principles and Power of Vision” By Dr, Myles Monroe astound me is because many times I feel that I cannot achieve the dreams I have, the visions that I have seen and that God has placed in my life.

We probably don’t have the money to travel the world or the time but our vision is what should inspire us to achieve it-and to make it reality. Dreams do come true but if we work for it.

In the beginning of the preface Monroe speaks about the explorers, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, the Wright Brothers who all had a vision to build, invent something & their vision is what brought the United States, the light bulb, Microsoft, airplanes and so much more! Imagine what we can bring as an individual? What we can invent with our VISION.

Don’t get discouraged now-work for what you want and remember that what you’re working for is not in vein. Keep your vision before you 24/7 and remind yourself that, that vision is possible and you WILL achieve it :)… I know I will.

“You were born to achieve something significant, and you were destined to make a difference in your generation.”

Journal to self…

From the death of King David to the rise of his son Solomon all the way to the death of Ahab and the kingdom of Israel falling apart…1 Kings did not fail to astound me and shock me.

Israel could have prevented it all. I’m looking forward to reading the capture of Israel-who suffered slavery by the Babylonians.

God has spoken to me a lot throughout the book of 1 Kings…

1. Solomon asking God for wisdom instead of riches

2. Learning not to make the mistake Solomon made with getting involved with women who worshiped other gods but the true God.

3. Rehoboam and Jeroboam

4. Jezebel and Ahab

In all that the most important thing that kept calling out to me was OBIDIENCE.

Obedience was something that the kings of Israel lacked. They would obey God one day, and the next day they were making decisions that cost them their very lives, the lives of their next generation, and the people of Israel.

another big mistake was causing the people of Israel to sin; to worship false gods such as Baal. As a pastor & a leader - and many leaders out there- we have the power of influence like the kings of Israel had over the people of Israel. We can make or break a nation. That’s why it’s crucial to obey God and always follow his footsteps, his guide, his word-because only GOD KNOWS BEST.

The whole book encourages me to seek God, to speak the truth, to seek for holiness in his presence. God is a peaceful God, and it’s is only normal for someone who loves us so much to get upset and saddened at the view of his creation worshipping other idols; or loving other things or people more then him ( who created it all and gave it all)

God is faithful-and reading how many times Israel fell in and out of sin and God forgiving them time and time again just comes to show me how great, sweet, loving, and all forgiving God WE have.
